Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Colo.,  Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo., and St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings Mont. were named in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list of 2022. This distinction recognizes the hospitals’ continued ability to deliver the highest-quality and safest patient care while focusing on battling COVID-19.

The rankings recognized 2,200 hospitals across 27 countries and were based on three data sources: recommendations from over 80,000 medical experts, patient experience surveys, and key medical performance indicators (KPIs). The KPIs looked at data on the quality of treatment and hygiene measures. On the U.S. list, both Good Samaritan Medical Center and Saint Joseph Hospital are considered among the top 414 hospitals in this country – only 12 Colorado hospitals made the list.

This is the third year in a row Newsweek has released the World's Best Hospitals List in partnership with Statista, a leading data and business intelligence portal that publishes worldwide industry rankings and company listings with high-profile media partners. This study aims to provide the best data-based comparison of hospital reputation and performance across countries.

“As we enter a post-pandemic world, we are grateful that three of our hospitals and their caregivers are recognized as some of the world’s best,” said Mark Korth, Region President at Intermountain Healthcare. “Our strategy for everything we do starts with the patient, and it is the caring philosophy of our nurses, physicians, and caregivers at every level that makes this honor possible.”
