Welcome Faiz A. Shakir, MD

Intermountain Medical Group would like to welcome Faiz A. Shakir, MD. He’ll be joining our team at the Alta View Specialty Clinic after recently completing a three year gastroenterology fellowship with the University of Oklahoma Hospital.

Dr. Shakir earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where he went on to serve a three year Internal Medicine residency, followed by a three year Gastroenterology fellowship. He is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterology Association; in addition, he is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Shakir has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer prevention, and C. difficile infection, and has published several papers in these areas.
