Terry Monroy Honored with MONARCH Award
St. Vincent Healthcare is honored to present the MONARCH award to Terry Monroy, public safety officer. The MONARCH Award acknowledges caregivers for exceptional patient care.
Terry was nominated for the recognition by a fellow caregiver for going out of the way to help her after her shift ended to get home safely on a cold afternoon.
“I had picked up an extra shift on my unit last week. Driving away, I realized I had a very flat front tire. I called Security to ask if anyone could assist me, and Terry showed up a few minutes later,” the caregiver shared. “I was embarrassed to tell him I had never changed a tire. Terry went above and beyond in taking the time to explain what he was doing. I now feel that, if I had to, I would be able to change a tire! Terry exhibited such a caring spirit, patience, and good humor. He does St. Vincent proud!”
Terry, thank you for your commitment to the safety and security of our St. Vincent campus and for providing a helping hand to our patients, caregivers, and visitors when they are in need.
