St. Vincent Children’s Healthcare Celebrates 5 Year Partnership with Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital and University of Utah’s School of Medicine
Billings, MT - In 2016, St. Vincent Healthcare partnered with Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital and the University of Utah’s School of Medicine to offer 24/7 advanced care to children in Montana and surrounding communities.
This relationship has allowed St. Vincent Healthcare to keep quality care close to home with experienced pediatric specialists, eliminating having to travel across state lines.
“St. Vincent Healthcare is so thankful for the partners we have at the University of Utah and Primary Children's Hospital,” said Dustin Strandell, Senior Director of Service Lines. “The partnership is now 5 years old and continues to evolve to improve the access and quality of care for children across our region.”
The relationship includes clinical services with both onsite and telemedicine options, allowing St. Vincent Children’s Healthcare to be the highest quality and most comprehensive pediatric program in the region.
“St. Vincent Healthcare’s alliance with Primary Children’s and the University of Utah School of Medicine has created a deep well of medical expertise for children of our region,” said Dr. Janis Langohr. “Through this friendship, we will continue to draw from that well to develop and sustain state of the art subspecialty, surgical and acute hospital care services for our youngest patients.”
Not only has the pediatric subspecialty care enhanced in the region through outpatient clinics, acute care support, and both onsite and telemedicine clinical services and education, but this partnership has also been the catalyst for the launch of the only pediatric general surgery program in the region, with several more services slated to start over the next 3-12 months.
“One of the reasons I feel this relationship has been so successful is because we have such similar cultures within our walls,” said Katy Welkie, Vice President of Children’s Health at Intermountain Healthcare and Chief Executive Officer of Primary Children’s Hospital. “We are all aligned in providing the absolute best care for children and their families.”
As we continue to grow and reflect on 5 years, St. Vincent Healthcare is grateful for this partnership to offer such unique and important services to the communities we serve.
