SCL Health Montana Region Receives 2019 Mother Xavier Award
SCL Health Montana Region’s Pre-term Birth Prevention Network is the winner of the 2019 Mother Xavier Ross Award and will receive $50,000 to support funding in 2019. The team was formally recognized and presented with the Mother Xavier Ross Award at the Spring Leadership Conference on April 15, 2019.
The Pre-term Birth Prevention Network will focus on reducing the prevalence of pre-term births by enabling providers the ability to identify problems early in pregnancy and providing treatment to avoid further complications and pre-term labor. The program will be implemented at St. Vincent, St. James, Holy Rosary, and the SCL Health Medical Group (Hardin and Miles City, MT, and Cody, WY), with potential to expand its reach across the system in upcoming years.
Mother Xavier Ross and the Sisters who accompanied her to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1858 immediately began to meet the needs of those about them, especially the needs of the poor. They worked in partnership with people who shared their mission to make a difference. The Mother Xavier Ross Award was established to recognize efforts which carry on this caring spirit and speak to critical needs.
