Pulmonary Rehabilitation Provides Wellness and Camaraderie for Miles City Woman

475 x 285 World Lung Day

Miles City, MT - Breathing issues can take away your ability to participate in and enjoy everyday activities. For the past decade, Holy Rosary Healthcare has offered Pulmonary Rehabilitation to help patients breathe better and regain their quality of life.

“I love working with these patients because I see where they start and how far they come through the program,” explained Diane Moeller, a registered nurse with Holy Rosary’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. “They all have a special life story to share.”

Phyllis Riley is one of those patients. Riley is a lung cancer patient and began her journey with pulmonary rehabilitation after contracting COVID-19 earlier this year.

“I come twice a week, have a blast and can definitely tell a difference in my health,” she said.

Pulmonary rehabilitation, also known as respiratory rehabilitation, is a formatted care program that combines exercise, education and support. Holy Rosary’s pulmonary rehabilitation specialists create personalized treatment plans to support patients, like Riley, reach their health goals and help them get back to doing what they love.

Riley and her friend, Gloria Tucker, also a pulmonary rehabilitation patient, enjoy completing their rehab exercises together so they can challenge and cheer for each other.

“The care team does an amazing job teaching us and supporting us through the process,” added Riley. “We all become like a family. We are blessed to have this service at Holy Rosary.”
