Patrick McCormick Honored with Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses

"Patrick had so much care and compassion for not only my husband but for me too,” shared his nominator. “He would listen to me while I cried and reassure me that we were in the best place with the best care.”

St. Vincent Healthcare is proud to recognize Patrick McCormick with the DAISY award which celebrates nurses for outstanding care.  Patrick, part of our ICU team, was recognized by two families for his caring spirit and attentiveness.

Thank you, Patrick, for your commitment to your patients and the needs of their families while receiving critical care at St. V’s. You have touched the lives of many families in our care during difficult moments.

The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 from an autoimmune disease. The Barnes family was impacted by the care and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this international award to say ‘Thank you’ to nurses everywhere. The award honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care that nurses provide.
