New Multidisciplinary Spine Care Clinic Opens in Lafayette
Combined neuro and ortho clinic offers one-stop shop
LAFAYETTE, CO – On May 22, 2023, SCL Health Medical Group, now Intermountain Health, officially opened two specialty clinics in one space: Lafayette Neurosurgery and Lafayette Spine. This new double offering on Intermountain's Good Samaritan Medical Center campus offers patients access to the region’s top spine expertise and technology.
The combination of the two clinics fosters multidisciplinary collaboration among some of the region’s top experts in spine. Recognized for excellent outcomes, Daniel R. Possley, DO, served as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Army and completed his spine surgery fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital, one of the busiest and most highly regarded spine fellowships in the world. Neurosurgeon Kevin K.H. Chow, MD, PhD, is extensively experienced in spine surgery, including open, robot-assisted, and minimally invasive approaches, and utilizes the latest technologies for spinal instrumentation and navigation.
The clinic will also employ one of the first and only EOS machines in Colorado. Otherwise known as digital dynamic radiography, the machine captures a full-body x-ray of the spine in motion. Combined with provider expertise, the EOS is incredibly valuable for diagnosing both neurological and orthopedic spine conditions.
“Our mission is to deliver quality, convenience, accessibility, value, innovation and compassion for our patients,” said Christopher Awtrey, MD, MHCDS, MBA, Chief Medical Officer, Vice President Medical Group Front Range. “By enabling multidisciplinary collaboration along the Front Range, we make comprehensive, patient-focused care more accessible for our patients and our communities.”
The new multidisciplinary clinic is the latest in a series of advancements in spine care offered by SCL Health Medical Group and Intermountain Health.
