Mike Glancy Receives Inaugural Spirit of St. Vincent Award

St. Vincent Caregiver Recognized at Event Celebrating the Hospitals’ 125th Anniversary

St. Vincent Healthcare is proud to honor Mike Glancy from the Medical Supply and Mobility team with our Inaugural Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul Award. St. Vincent created this award to celebrate our legacy and 125 years of service to Billings and the region to honor a caregiver who consistently demonstrates and lives out the values of Catholic healthcare.

Mike was nominated for the award by a fellow caregiver who has seen first-hand the dedication and caring spirit he brings to work daily. As a medical equipment tech, Mike helps maintain, repair, and deliver medical equipment for patients who have needs in recovery and healing at home. He often works with patients in their homes, orienting them to use the necessary equipment to continue healing and have independence in recovery.

His nominator and colleague, Blaine Rackliff, shared:

Mike is wonderful. He works very hard each day to meet the needs of our patients and leads by example consistently in the department. He can be seen each day assembling and delivering beds, wheelchairs, walkers, scooters...whatever is needed! Mike is the epitome of a team player. Mike not only takes good care of his patients but also his co-workers. Mike gives and gives of himself without cease and without complaining. I count it an honor to work with Mike.

Mike was also recognized for going above and beyond his regular duties to clear snow and ice in the winter, lending a hand when something needs fixing and overcoming obstacles with a positive spirit. Mike shared how his health challenges and recovery and those who cared for him, including St. Vincent caregivers and his wife, inspire his work and service to our community.

"At St. Vincent Healthcare, understanding and living who we are is uniquely influenced by the heritage and the mission of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, our founders. Our past, present, and future are shaped by the values, examples, and spirit of the sisters as inspired by Saint Vincent de Paul," said Tracy Neary, Vice President of Mission Integration for St. Vincent Healthcare and the Montana | Wyoming Region of Intermountain Health. "Mike demonstrates our call to service in how he cares for our patients and supports his fellow caregivers. He is a great example of the mission and values of our organization."

Mike was honored with the award at a special reception on the feast day of St. Vincent de Paul, honoring the legacy of the hospital's namesake. We were joined by members and volunteers with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and members of the Sisters of Charity to recognize volunteers and supporters and to share how the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul continues to inspire and live on in the impactful work that our organizations do in the Billings community and the region.
