Holy Rosary Launches Tele-Hospitalist Program
Miles City, MT - Holy Rosary Healthcare has launched a great service to our patients as part of our ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of care to our community. We are dedicated to implementing systems that will enhance the continuity of care provided.
In collaboration with Sound Physician Group, the Tele-Hospitalists are available to serve the needs of patients throughout the night. Once a request is initiated electronically by a nurse or provider, the Tele-Hospitalist will be able to review a patient’s chart through the medical record system and know everything about the care of that patient. The Tele-Hospitalist will be able to place orders and schedule treatments for the patient.
Since its start, the Hospitalist program has been well-received at Holy Rosary. Now, the addition of a Tele-Hospitalist program allows patients to receive care with the convenience of doing through video. In the first 2 months of service, 85 patients have seen the Tele-Hospitalist via video. The telemedicine consult includes both video interaction as well as utilization of a digital stethoscope.
“The video encounter has been very well received by the patients and their families, and we have been getting good feedback,” said Dr. Bishow Paudel, Chief Hospitalist of Sound Physicians. “We will continue to check feedback and provide it to the team.”
The addition of a Tele-Hospitalist program helps Holy Rosary provide even more services to its patients. In an effort to keep care close to home, technological advancement and a strong mission has helped execute the highest quality of service through this new program.
“I find this to be a long-term solution to provide quality hospital medicine by board certified providers and even a solution to recruitment challenges and physician turnover in rural community,” Dr. Paudel said. “This will help to make the local team more stable, functional, and effective.”
